Minutes of Public Regular Meeting –
Tuesday, May 10, 2016
There was a regular meeting of the Cable Advisory Council called to order at 7:04 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2016, by Chairman Gregory Davis at the Charter Communications facility, Newtown, Connecticut.
ATTENDEES: Chairman Gregory Davis (Roxbury), Gerry Belanger (Newtown), Jon Bernon (Woodbury), Kevin Burns (Newtown), Donna Cassidy (Trumbull), George Linkletter (Sherman), Mike Muttitt, (Monroe), Gene Rosen (Newtown), Charles Rubano (New Milford)

ROLL CALL: Members of the council introduced themselves.

SERVICE PROVIDER REPORTS:
Greg Van Antwerp- (Public Access) spoke of the following:

CTV192 Newsletter- May/June 2016
Franny Hannigan mentored a student for his Capstone project and produced a short video.
Spoke of revamping the training program
Fall classes will begin in September.
Tom Cohan (Director of Government Relations) spoke of the following:
Not a lot happened in the legislator- CTN is trying to revise their funding.
Referred to the January meeting regarding a complaint about overcharging for Heritage Village. Mr. Cohan gave the background of Heritage Village- They are now getting two community access channels.
Spoke of the Charter/Time Warner merger and gave a brief background of the rules and regulations. Members of the CAC asked questions of Mr. Cohan most specifically regarding fees and current policies.
COUNCIL TREASURY REPORT- George Linkletter presented the Treasurer’s report: The net balance is $17,355.49. This includes $1,049.16 in checking and $16,306.33 in the money market account. There were no objections and thus the Treasurer’s report was accepted.
Mike Muttitt made a motion to accept the minutes from the March 2016 meeting as presented. Donna Cassidy seconded the motion- All in favor
Gregory Davis spoke of a motion made at the March meeting to send a letter to Charter requesting an increase in funding to $4,500.00/year. Mr. Davis presented Tom Cohan with this request at this meeting. There was a brief discussion of the expenses of the Cable Advisory Council.

Charles Rubano noted that New Milford has a new mayor.
COUNCIL CHAIRMAN REPORT
SVAC Report- No report
Cable Industry News Desk- Gregory Davis spoke of the transition to a parallel data service that rivals a video distribution service. There was a discussion of the legislation and community access providers.
CABLE ADVISORY COUNCIL OFFICERS
Gregory Davis noted that he will create a nominating committee for the July elections.
Gregory Davis made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:37pm. Seconded.
