Greetings Senator Kane

The CT Public Utilities Regulatory Authority Area 19 Cable Advisory Council for Charter Communications which serves the designated community access providers, and the 19 towns along the Housatonic River valley from Trumbull to Winsted in Western CT, unanimously decided the following on 12 November 2013:

The R19CWAC Cable Advisory Council supports a state-wide initiative to restore the PEGPETIA Grant Funding Program per Chapter 289 of the CT General Statutes Section 16-331. The R19CWAC further believes that Public Act 13-184, An Act Concerning Expenditures and Revenue for the Biennium Ending June 30, 2015, which diverts funds collected under the PEGPETIA Grant Program entirely into the general fund for fiscal years 2014 and 2015, directly undermines community access programming, and must not continue.

The PEGPETIA fund appears to be easy picking for budget crisis bound Governors.

Gov. Jody Rell Stole the funds for 2008-2009, and now Gov. Dannel Malloy has again raided the PEGPETIA fund for 2014-2015. This is wrong. Totally wrong.

Please review the enclosed PEGPETIA Grant application & awards list report for 2012 -2013. This report is available on the www.CableAdvisoryCouncil.org website here:

While recovering this fund may be a pipe dream for the next budget cycle,

Please DO NOT let any CT Governor raid the PEGPETIA fund again. –

Sincerely,

Gregory G. Davis, KB1YHW
