CABLE ADVISORY COUNCIL CHAIRMAN REPORT

Gregory G. Davis

14 January 2014

Correspondence Report CWAC14-01-14 Advisory Council Meeting

A) Agenda item request from Jos. A. Mustich, Region 12's Rep on Charter CAC.

Charter's 2014 rates are out of control:

My bill just increased by over $20 more dollars. All we want is basic cable and basic internet, which price gouging Charter costs us nearly $100??? a month.. I spent almost an hour on the chat line with a rep and her supervisor.

See you on Tuesday! Joe

B) Roxbury Subscriber from 72 Botsford Hill Road 3 Jan 2014;

"My cable bill is just over $200 per month for all the Premium TV channels & the highest speed Internet services.

Why does Charter insist on denying access to BBC Science, Smithsonian, and a few more, Insisting that another $20 per month would be owed on top of the $200 Charter already takes? This pricing game is so out of control, I am seriously considering, 1. RE-INSTALLING my Over the Air TV Antenna, and Cutting Everything back to INTERNET Service Only, and then subscribing to NETFLIX for $8/month..."

C) Agenda items request from Tom Joyner, Sherman BOE representative

1. Discussion of Basic Cable accessibility now and in the future.

2. Discussion of quality of signal across all channels, compression policies, must-carry policies, Charter's commitment tyo signal quality and availability.

3. Discussion of Charter's current data mining operations and privacy policies.
